Art Direction for Creative Visual Branding
“Hey! We have reached the end of the course. I hope that I helped you to develop your brand project, to order and structure yourself and inspire you. If you can answer the briefing as detailed as possible and investigate your business as much as you can, you already have the half project done! Display your ideas with keywords and visualize them in an inspirational mood board. This is helping you to create and design. Going through all the possible creative communication tools like the symbol and logo, color palette, typography, photography style, illustration, and the graphic system will help you to select and choose the right communication for your brand. Don't worry if you have trouble to design something. You can always come back to your briefing and your moodboard. They will help you to get in the right direction again. After having the basic assets done you can play and display them into mockups and let your project come alive. Try to think about how your brand might communicate. Make simple posters and visualize them with mockups. Like that you will get a feeling about how your brand might look in real life. By creating a brand book in the end you have a first step to communicate your business, being confident to show it around, and convince people or your client to connect with you. It would be an honor if I can review your brand book and how you got there! The process is something I really care about, as it is a testament to how useful the course is for you. I am just apologizing already if I will not be able to answer immediately. As a freelance art director, I am sometimes all over the places and have to attend my clients. Nevertheless, I will try my best to “art direct” and answer you as much as I can. Don't hesitate to ask for help in any case. We are all getting stuck in one moment. Maybe there is someone in your life who you feel can give you an honest opinion. Or maybe you can ask other professionals in the creative sector. Every additional knowledge will give you an enriching experience! I am always saying: knowledge gives you power, knowledge makes you creative! Given my multi-cultural background, I like to say: obrigado, dankeschön, gracias and thank you for taking my course! ”

“This is it. We reached the end of the Domestika course. I hope I got to teach you everything you need to know to develop a visual identity for your brand and to reflect it on the brand book. Before parting ways, I would like go with you through all the steps we have been like taking together and help to develop it in your final project. First, we studied the future of an art director as a communicator and leader. After that, we started to define the brand project and working with the briefing. We use the internet, but also books and magazines to make a status quo of the brand. Then we creat...”
