About the final project for: Advanced RPG Game Design with Unity

Advanced RPG video game design with Unity

“Although we do not like to say this, the course has come to an end. I sincerely hope that it has helped you to learn and continue to grow as a developer. I know it has not been an easy course, but the best warriors do not emerge from easy paths. As I always tell you, don't give up. It is normal to get frustrated at times, it is normal to leave and come back, but never doubt your ability to achieve something that at first you think you will never achieve. Everything in life has its learning and nobody is born knowing. Forget that you have to be born with "something" special to be "whatever." That helps, but tenacity and hard work (and hours) will help you achieve what you set out to do, so put your heart on it and practice until you get the course! Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your video game and the steps that have led you to it. We are going to review the key phases of the project. It would be great if you showed me a picture of each phase and added an explanation about what you have done (how and why) in each one. It sure is very useful and inspiring for the whole community! Scenario creation Let yourself go and be as creative as possible! Create the world your character will move through by following the steps we saw in Unit 3.

Creation of characters Every story needs protagonists. I have left you some characters in the additional resources of Unit 3, but I encourage you to find or create another one and work on its movement, actions and the controls to manage it through the scenarios you have created.
Camera setup and switching between scenes Add the logic to the cameras of the game so that they follow the character and do not leave the scenes. We don't want to miss your adventures!
Then it's time to work on transitions, it's up to you to grow your game world. Connect the scenes as we saw in Unit 3 and enjoy the first important step in creating more “complex” games. Dialogue system Use what you've learned to design new NPCs, place them around the stage, and have them tell wonderful stories to the player. Dialogues are key in every RPG!
Combat system Configure the game's combat system by adding some animation and creating and adding enemies that face the player.
Final details As we saw in Unit 5, you can add improvements to the character and make the game grow in complexity by expanding the actions it can perform, such as using the gold you earn in combat to buy improvements from other NPCs, for example. You already have the necessary base to create your own RPG and, in addition, you have a fantastic forum to meet other creators and ask questions. I invite you to extend the game on your own, to turn it into a real adventure. In the end you can also jump in and publish your game on social media and mobile app stores. Getting it to be played by other players worldwide and seeing the statistics is something of the most exciting, you should not miss it. Finally, I would appreciate it if you stop by the forum from time to time and help other students with their doubts and problems. It is impossible for me to be as pending as I would like and your help is great, in addition, it helps to make more pineapple and create a beautiful community among all. Nothing else, I hope you enjoyed this course as much as I did creating it. See you on the forum. THANK YOU! ”

“Final Project We're at the end of this Domestika course. I hope you learned the steps to create your role-playing game and apply your new knowledge to future games. If you follow the steps, making a video game is easy, but be careful with the scope of your project. Think small and enjoy the journey. Make a project you can finish. When you upload the final project, be original and upload the stages of the process. From the creation of the characters, the scenarios, how you set up the camera or what transition you chose for scene changes. Try adding more skills to the player or add depth to t...”
