About the final project for: Designing and Modeling Comic Book Characters with ZBrush

Designing and Modeling Comic Book Characters with ZBrush

“We have reached the end of the course! Thank you very much for accompanying me. I hope my lessons and tips will help you when creating your own characters. Do not forget that each project is unique and that what we saw in this course is a base that you can use with your own style. I share the steps you must follow to carry out and share your project: Search for references Start by filling your mind with images and visualize how they connect and what the end result will be. Choose your character very well for the final project. Don't rush into doing something too complex or fancy. Less is more, worry about it being visually attractive.

Start with the base mesh Don't rush to memorize all the tools. The key is to practice with your characters and then the use will come naturally. At the beginning of your practice with the base mesh do not bring the character you are making to its final state. Have fun and sketch different characters with unequal proportions.
Save the different versions that occur throughout the process. You won't know when you'll need to roll back to a previous version to save or recover work. For this workflow you don't have to UV everything. Only worry about the most important or the parts that have more detail like the face.
Textured Try to loosen up when you are texturing. The important thing is not the detail, but the color composition.
Perched While you are posing the character, visualize what the final composition of the image will be. Use your cell phone to take photos of your character with the final format of the image. Save them and review them or use the app on the screen or on your computer.
Lighting and rendering Take several renders, since the composition and lighting tests that you can do are never enough. Before doing the final post production, worry about adjusting the composition and choosing the right render. Lastly, watch out for oversaturation and high contrasts. Check that your monitor settings are correct and check your final image on different devices before posting it on social media.
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your project and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you could show me an image of each phase and add a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. I also want to invite you to actively participate in the forum, both sharing your progress and asking questions or giving advice and trying to help the rest of the community. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress! I will try to spend as much time as possible on the forum, but please be patient because there will be times when I have professional commitments and it will take me a while to respond. See you in the forum!”

“Final project Thank you very much for taking this course. I really tried to condense all the information I have acquired throughout the years in my career and especially in this last stage focused on 3D character modeling. The idea is to avoid that dynamic where we extract small pieces of information courses, tutorials and internet and pack it in the clearest way so that your future projects look much better. Next, I want to give you some advice from what we have seen in the course. Fill your mind with images, visualize how they connect and what will be the end result. Don't rush to learn t...”
