About the final project for: The Art of Storytelling for Freelancers and Creators

The Art of Storytelling for Freelancers and Creators

“Congratulations―having completed this course, you can proudly call yourself a storyteller! Thank you so much for your active participation. If you've completed each lesson and exercise, you should have come up with your hero's journey for your final project.

Remember that your story will continue to evolve and get better the more you tell and tweak it. The key to success lies in rewriting!
Once you're ready to share the final draft of your story, I would like you to do a personal evaluation. Read your final story before going to the end of your workbook and doing a self-evaluation. There are nine criteria: Follow the instructions in the workbook to give yourself a score for each given category. The rubric will show you how to come up with a score between one and four. Once you're done, just add up the score and see how you did.
After that, go to the projects section of the course and do the same with three stories of your peers. Using the score that you came up with, provide them with some feedback, including what part of their story was most relatable and what part kept your attention. Don't hesitate to also let them know which areas could use a little bit of improvement. This certainly is one of the best ways to develop your writing and storytelling! It not only allows you to think critically and creatively but also teaches you to listen to others and to voice your own perspectives. Once you've gained some experience in evaluating the stories of your peers, come back to re-evaluate your own story. See if you scored the same or different. Share your thoughts in the forum: Did you score lower or higher the second time? Tell us what you learned from this experience. Again, thank you so much for taking this course! I hope that you learned something useful and that you had fun on your journey to becoming a storyteller. See you in the forum soon!”

“Final Project You've arrived at the end of the course. Looks like we both kept our promise. But remember, your storytelling journey never really ends. I had a great time sharing my background and the storytellers that have influenced my philosophy. I get inspiration from everywhere I can and you should try to do the same. In this lesson, I'll review all the steps we took to write our final project and we'll continue to improve our story through evaluation. Even the stories that you think are mundane can relate to your audience. You need to match your unique selling points to audience desire...”
