A course by Alexandro Valcarcel
What started out during college as a way of getting more people to come to his film society ended up solidifying Alexandro Valcarcel's passion for graphic design. Poster design went from being just a hobby to a successful career. Since 2016, he has been head of design at Teatro La Plaza (Lima, Peru) and is also currently a design consultant for its theater festival, Sala de Parto, which involves creating proposals, posters, and visual identities.
He has also exhibited in and been selected for festivals such as the Havana International Film Festival and the Rzeszow Theater Poster Biennale in Poland. Some of his works have been published in graphic design books by publishers such as Sandu/Promo Press, Hightone, Bloomsbury, and Capsules Books, while others have given a voice to social protests in his country. In addition, he has developed projects for clients such as Damiani Editore (Italy), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Goethe Institut, the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross), IOM (UN International Organization for Migration), the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Al Este Film Festival, and various theater and film directors across Peru.
