“Tools and Materials of Mosaic Making for This Course For this lesson we're going to look at all the materials we're going to need beginning with our design materials. We're starting obviously with some paper to draw on. I like this size paper, it's good to work on. Don't need to be too big even if our mosaic's huge. Then we've got some colouring pencils. You can use felt tips, paints, wherever you like. Pencils work good for me and a pencil sharpener. A compass, because we're working on a circular mosaic, so we can draw a nice circle. And a ruler to make sure our scale drawing is accurate. ...”

After studying at the three top art schools in London (Camberwell, St Martins, and Hornsey), he went on to create large scale painted murals. After being asked by a client to create a mosaic in 1990, it unknowingly changed the course of his career.
Since then, he has completed many large scale mosaic commissions around the world. His work has received recognition from organizations like The National Terrazzo & Mosaic Association of America, The Society of American Mosaic Artists, The Prix Picassiette in Chartres, France, and The Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers in the UK.
