“Brand Guidelines System In the last lesson, you applied your brand to mock-ups. In this lesson, I'll teach how to create a guideline system to keep the brand consistent. Now you've made it to the end of the brand. You spent all that time doing your research, exploring your sketches, moods, the competition of what else is out there, trying to find the right spot for it. You've developed the logo, you got it all cleaned up, you got the color in there, you found a nice palette. You started working with illustration stuff, with some patterns or some texture details, some photography that works....”

Jon Contino is a graphic designer, illustrator, and creative director of CONTINO branding studio from New York City. He first discovered his passion for graphic design and illustration when he was a teenager in a rock band, and realized that banks needed demo covers, t-shirt, and flyer designs. Throughout his university career, he reached out to local businesses for graphic design services. By the time he finished university, he had a full portfolio, which led him to create his own design studio.
Through his branding studio, he has produced award-winning work for household names like Hulu, Google, AT&T, Coca-Cola, and Nike. In 2018, Jon published his first book, Brand by Hand, in partnership with Abrams Books. At the heart of his work, his aim is to create original designs by hand and develop a brand’s visual language with a human touch.
