Although it may feel like it’s extra work, a well-defined brief will always be worth the time you spend on it. Getting this right will often save you time and energy. Plus your work will always be better. Remember the fundamentals of writing and copywriting. Good social media copywriting always begins as good writing, full stop. Then your job is to make sure what you’ve written works for your chosen platform and its audience. Feel free to use the formulas we looked at here, plus others you find online. And use some of the devices of rhetoric/stylistic devices to give your writing a lift. None of these are shortcuts or tricks to writing great copy. The truth is that there is no shortcut to writing great copy. It takes time, dedication, commitment to the craft, and lots of persistence. You have to genuinely enjoy spending hours crafting sentences and not being happy with anything other than the best you can do.
