“ Dovetails In this lesson, you'll be marking out and cutting your first dovetails. I'll now put my glasses on. Here on the table, I have a set of marking tools and cutting tools. In front of me, I have a marking gauge, a marking knife, a pencil, the all-important rubber, coloured dots, masking tape, a small mallet, a set of chisels, my dovetail saw, my fretsaw, and my plane. I'm using tulipwood. This is a nice, soft, and easy-to-work timber and it's fairly inexpensive. I won't get too deep into careful measuring and spacing.
