About the video: Influences
Overview
“In this lesson I will show you those directors who have inspired me, who have made me love the video clip and who have been fundamental pillars in shaping my own style. It is impossible to create from scratch, we have all drank from thousands of references throughout our lives. Everything we see, everything we hear and everything we experience influences us in some way; the beauty is to channel it, mix it up and find within all these looks a look of your own. I'll tell you about the wit of Spike Jonze, about the irony of Dougal Wilson, about how Velvet Goldmine , by Todd Haynes, has greatly influenced most of my work, the approach to the characters of Andrea Arnold and of how the video clip for Bittersweet Symphony is the culprit that most of my video clips have predominantly blue tones. ”
In this video lesson Lyona Ivanova addresses the topic: Influences, which is part of the Domestika online course: Creative Direction for Music Videos. Learn to realize your artistic vision from shoot to post-production.

One of the things that I like the most about this movie is how it portrays nostalgia and how we idealize the past. It does it in a very visual way...”
