Meet the creatives who are launching courses this month on Domestika. This month, newcomers to the community, as well as members who you probably already know, present courses across a range of creative disciplines. Get to know them all as you prepare for a month packed with creativity.

Design

Create your identity as a designer with Sagi Haviv

Sagi Haviv is a designer and partner at Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv–the legendary studio that handles design for brands such as Mobil, PBS, NBC, Showtime, and National Geographic. In this course, Sagi will show you how to add personality to graphic design and make the most of your creativity in every one of your projects.

Landscape photography with Nico Ferreyra (@nicoferreyra6)

Nico is a photographer specializing in travel photography who collaborates with companies such as Lonely Planet in Argentina. In his course, you’ll learn to capture the best moments from any one of your trips, no matter whether your experience is in taking photos professionally or as a hobby. He also unveils his secrets for developing a narrative and retouching in Lightroom.

Alex is a watercolor artist who divides his time between Paris and Los Angeles. In his new course, he will go through his process for capturing the personality and atmosphere of a building or architectural scene. You will use paper, ink, and watercolor to channel the beauty of the architecture that surrounds you. After doing this course, you won’t ever leave the house without paint and paper again.

Learn how to create an isometric vector illustration without needing any prior experience, such as learning to prepare a grid so that you can work with proportions, lights, shadows, and different perspectives. Josh is an illustrator and artist from Mexico who creates images that channel fantastic worlds with geometric shapes.

Mattias is an independent illustrator from Sweden who is known for his unique drawings and detailed notebook sketches. In his course, he will reveal why drawing continuously is one of the best habits for developing your creativity. After learning more about his sketching and illustration methods, you will create full scenes from wherever you are.

Beatriz is an architect and illustrator based in Madrid whose work has been exhibited around the world. In her second Domestika course, you will learn to create augmented reality filters for Facebook and Instagram using the software Spark AR. You will learn to personalize all of your projects so that your social media profiles stand out.

Nacho Yagüe is a concept artist who has experience in developing such well-known video games as Assassin’s Creed Unity. He is back with his second Domestika course to reveal more of his secrets for creating concept art. This time, he will teach you the basic principles in the creation of concepts in Adobe Photoshop.

The Art of Record Covers: Illustration meets Lettering with Steve Simpson (@stevesimpson)

Steve is an illustrator, lettering artist, and designer based in Dublin. His course is focuses on design that unites illustration and typography to create album covers, posters, packaging and more. Discover how he approaches art direction and his creative process, and apply his methods to your next project.

Italic Script with a Brush Pen with Bego Viñuela (@caligrafiabilbao)

Calligraphy expert Bego is launching her second Domestika course (the first was about the Copperplate style). You will learn to use a brush pen to draw letters and more. You will discover different calligraphy styles to create pieces that apply techniques such as color gradients and transitions.

James is a US lettering artist who has worked with world-renowned brands. He’ll teach you to create professional pieces with traditional techniques. He’ll present famous logos and reflect on their future as a way to help you create your own logotype using brush lettering.

Mariana is a textile artist who specializes in hand-made embroidered pieces. In her second Domestika course, she shows you embroidery techniques to help you create decorative pieces with texture and apply them to cushions, bags, garments, and more.

Embroidery and textile design with Amarpo (@amarpodesign)

Ana Restrepo is a Colombian textile designer who fuses embroidery with prêt-à-porter. For her, each one of her designs is an artistic piece, as she explains in her course. You will learn contemporary embroidery techniques and how to paint onto fabric so that you can create garments to wear for life.

Macrame knots with Belen Senra (@belensenra)

Belen Senra’s third macramé course launches this month (her first two courses focused on designing accessories and getting to grips with the technique). Now, you will create your own library of macramé knots and patterns so that you can apply them to any project, whether that be fashion, products, upholstery or accessories.

Christian is an expert in web development and mobile app production. In his second Domestika course, you will learn to create a style guide for app design.
