Because we've got this over this nice background that suggests lighting coming from this side here, we can make this area at the back really nice and shadowy, and pick out these lighter edges with a warmer color. Any time I'm blending like this, the first strokes that I add always look kind of rough and messy, but it's because I know that I'll go in with a damp brush and blend everything out.
