Because gouache is so opaque, we can layer lights over dark and darks over lights, but because gouache is permanently soluble, when we add additional layers, we can accidentally reactivate the layers underneath and this can cause a bit of frustration when we paint. There are certain things that we need to think about when we're adding our layers.
