“In this lesson, we'll take a look at some of the things that we need to think about when we layer gouache. So because gouache is so opaque, we can layer lights over darks and darks over lights. But because gouache is permanently soluble, When we add additional layers, we can accidentally reactivate the layers underneath. And this can cause a little bit of frustration when we paint. So there are certain things that we need to think about when we're adding our layers. So the best way to become familiar with the problems that layering is gonna cause is to experiment with layering up the colors...”
