To get some of these details, I use the little tip on the side of my paintbrush to paint. I don't go smaller than this 0.5-inch flat brush because I don't want to get myself caught up in too much detail. That's how I keep it loose. I also like to use the very tip of my flat brush to paint the little tiny lines on there. I just dab it, because if you start doing a full line, it will be too much.
