“ Applying the First Wash Now I'll be working on this hand towel that's underneath the plate. I'm working with painting through something that is a bit tinted. The plate has an aqua-green tint to it. Therefore, the color underneath will be affected by that plate color, so I'll add a little green gouache tint to this aqua color to tone it down and darken it. I am using the tones with a bit of this teal blue added in. Later on, as I work on the plate further, I'll start using highlights and dark values to indicate that it's a plate.
