“ How to Store the Work Now, I'll show you how you can protect your work and store it properly. When you finish your drawing, to stop it from smudging anymore, you need to spray it with a fixative. You can buy this from an art store. You should get colourless fixative, which means that over time, the white of your paper won't discolour. Fixative is designed to protect drawings so that they don't smudge, but hairspray is much cheaper and it has the same effect, but it will discolour.
