Creative Brand Identity: How Ideas Find a Home

“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this course. Thank you for enrolling and I hope you've enjoyed it. Now, you are ready to create your own brand, making use of the different ways to originate ideas and feeding your creativity along the way. But before I say goodbye, let’s do a quick recap of your brief and all the necessary steps to achieve it. Your final project consists of three elements: 1. A creative brief for a new brand identity. 2. A set of mini guidelines for your new brand. 3. A fully developed brand. Firstly, refer to the exercises we did in Unit 2 as inspiration to tap into your creativity. This doesn’t have to be any of the ones we did together, but rather anything that makes you feel inspired and helps to explore the topic behind the brief. I hope that by doing this you will see the benefit of regularly submerging yourself in creative activities. Try to do this weekly, like going to the gym! Loosen up your mind. Keep a sketchbook and take full advantage of any sparks of inspiration you may have.

Next, restructure the brief, think about why it is needed, and consider what challenges the brand may face. Try to understand where the brand will live: how it will manifest in society and what it needs to do. Remember, it does not have to be a perfectly organised brief but should have all the components you need to build your brand. Follow the guides I shared with you in Unit 3.
Use ideas from your sketchbook, creative exercises or things you’ve found or seen in everyday life. Let it all inspire you to create the brand identity and system for the exhibition. Bring this together by creating a set of mini guidelines that summarise your whole brand and would allow others to use the brand successfully. Now demonstrate where the brand will live and its many facets, whether it’s social media, print or merchandise. Put together a case study to showcase the brand and how your exhibition will look and feel.
And that wraps up my tips for you! Now it’s your turn to practise what you’ve learned... Remember that you can engage in the forum to learn from other students. Share your tips and experiences. I will check in from time to time to answer your questions. It’s been a real pleasure to share my work with you, and I’m looking forward to seeing what you will make for YOUR final project. See you. ”

“Final Project Thank you so much for taking part in my course. We're coming to an end but before that, I wanted to say, I hope you enjoyed and we'll do a little recap. The first thing is to keep your mind creative, you need to keep feeding it with curiosity. You can find ideas everywhere. If you look around and you collect, and you've got a sketchbook and you scribble, and you do exercises like we said, and many other ways of reinventing things, refinding purpose for things, reusing, recycling, reimagining, and doodling and having fun, those things will help keep your mind creative. We have ...”
