Martina Flor
A course by Martina Flor
Martina Flor combines her talents as a lettering designer and illustrator. Born in Buenos Aires, Martina has lived, studied, and worked in a number of cities throughout Europe including Berlin, where she founded a custom lettering and typography studio. Some of her international clients include The Washington Post, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, HarperCollins, Fontshop, Monotype, and Etsy.
Martina is cofounder of the well-known online “battle” project Lettering vs Calligraphy and founder of Letter Collections. She holds a master's degree in type design from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, and she spends much of her time teaching lettering and type design in Europe and abroad.
Martina is the author of the book The Golden Secrets of Lettering, published in 2017 by Princeton Architectural Press in the United States and by Thames & Hudson in the United Kingdom (Original title: Lust auf Lettering, 2016 Verlag Hermann Schmidt), which has been translated into several languages.
When she isn't drawing letters, she travels the world presenting her work at conferences and universities. In 2016, she spoke at TEDx Río de la Plata before an audience of 10,000 spectators.
