About the final project for: Decorative Buttercream Flowers for Cake Design

Decorative Buttercream Flowers for Cake Design

“Was the behind story of how I started my flower cake business by chance interesting? I feel a lot closer to you guys now that I have shared my story. I hope that my course has become a helpful start in broadening your hobbies and the world of baking. before saying our goodbyes I would like to recap the steps you'll need to take on your final project. Influences & colour inspiration I shared with you a few artists who had a big impact on my flower cake world. Rather than copying someone else’s design, it is more meaningful to use your own story and ideas to create your unique designs.

To those of you planning to start a cake flower business, I will share with you how I plan the key concept and ideas to create the cake. I take inspiration from everything surrounding me. I do not set a limit on the designs of cakes I create, therefore my clients also receive their only design K Flower cakes. Throughout my 5 years of flower piping, the most improvement I have undergone is the use of colours. There are different tips that I have gained through experimenting with different pigments and colours.
How to handle tools It is very important to have the basic tools when piping flowers. Take a look at the links I have shared with you which shows you the different material I have used. During my lessons, my students struggled the most with handling and controlling the piping tools. It is important to start using the tools the right way so that you get used to the correct technique which allows you to make nice flowers. Making buttercream One of the most frequently asked questions that I receive through Instagram and email is my buttercream recipe. Please follow along with the step-by-step instructions on how to make the perfect buttercream for flower piping.
Piping buttercream flowers The highlight of this course is flower piping. I use the Wilton 104 piping tip to pipe the flowers. You will probably have to repeatedly practice and view this unit since it is the most challenging part. This unit takes the longest to learn as there are many techniques such as handling the piping bag, use of hand strength, angle and direction of the piping tip and the speed of the flower nail. However, don’t give up, as long as you master these skills it will be easy to bloom your flowers. The technique will improve with time.
Flower arrangement The main purpose of flower piping is to use as decoration on cakes. I think flowers look the most elegant on top of cakes and make the perfect designs! First, I will teach you how to ice the cake. It is only a rough icing, so it should not be too difficult. On this cake, arrange the different flowers to how you would like to, according to your preference. In this course, I arranged the roses on the cake as a crescent moon style. On the sides of the cake and in the empty spaces, add in some apple blossoms and it gives it an extra glamorous touch. This is one of K Flower Cake’s most beloved designs.
I taught you how to simply add buttercream flowers onto cupcakes. You can use these to sell in small cafes or to gift to someone special. I have included some tips on how to store buttercream and the best ways to pack the cupcakes if you would like to gift them.
To master this course, you have to understand the basics of buttercream flowers. Repeatedly watch the different examples to get more used to the techniques.
I want to thank you all for joining me on this long course. I hope that those of you who have experienced buttercream flowers for the first time found the course interesting and for those of you who already had lots of experience with buttercream flowers, I hope that I was able to broaden your knowledge more. Hopefully, once piping gets much easier for you, you can also experience a sense of accomplishment and I can share more with you how I felt too. Did you enjoy this course? Please share your flower cake stories with me. Thank you so much. ”

“Final Project We have come to the end. A huge congratulations for finishing my course. I hope you enjoyed it and learned a lot. I'm so glad to be able to share all my knowledge with you. In this video, I'll go over the most important steps to make your flower cake. First, you'll make the buttercream. Remember, the key to make the perfect buttercream is temperature.
