“ Rough Shapes Now that we have the side profile of our puppet on a piece of wood, we'll cut out the individual parts using a band saw. You'll notice there is another hand here. I have turned the hand pattern around to draw it. If you don't have a band saw, the alternative is to make small cuts and use a big gouge to cut the outer bits. You could also use a handsaw to cut the rough shape and cut off the excess pieces later. It's much slower than using the band saw.
