“ Carving the Rest of the Puppet Now we prepare the bottom of the joint to fit the top and all we need for that is a saw, a flat chisel, and a knife. This will be the upper part and I'll use the pencil to draw this part of the joint. When you cut, cut a bit outside of the line. We can always fix it with the knife later. Now the side. The dozuki saw is especially great for such a cut. We want to make sure that it all fits nicely, so we'll use the knife. As you can see, when this bends later, it will only bend in one direction.
