“ Tools and Materials In this lesson, I will let you know the materials I'll use for this course. I will highlight the ones that are essential and point out the ones that can be useful. You will need a block of basswood, 20 cm long, 15 cm wide, and 8 cm tall. In Europe and America, basswood is the best wood for making puppets and carving because it is soft and easy to carve. If you are working somewhere else, ask your wood provider to give you the softest wood you can access. For a boy puppet, like the one we will make later, I usually start with one block.
