About the final project for: The Golden Secrets of Lettering
The golden secrets of lettering
“Congratulations for finishing this project! Surely you will have questions and doubts, and you will recognize things that you would like to improve. That is the ultimate goal of this course: that you yourself can recognize the problems to solve and you can guide your own development as a lyricist. For this, in this course we have defined what is lettering or labeling and we have differentiated it from other disciplines, such as calligraphy and type design. We have exercised our observation skills by going out into the street and valuing the labels we find on the road, learning to analyze them formally. Later, we saw the basis of typography and the role of calligraphy in the design of letters. In order to draw letters in an effective way, we learned a specific technique that allows us to test different solutions for each problem and achieve interesting and visually rich results by working in layers. We use all this to sketch our lettering and refine it by hand, making decisions and solving the largest number of problems on paper. Later we learned the transfer to the digital environment and an appropriate technique to draw letters in vectors. The recommendation that remains for me to give you is: practice. The only way to become good at this is to do it many times and improve through trial and error. For this, criticism is also fundamental, so I encourage you to leave queries in the forum and upload your sketches, so we can all make comments and exercise our typographic eye even more. See you in the forum!
