“Preparing leather and decorative paper: vegetable-tanned leather In this lesson, we're going to look at vegetable-tanned leathers. Before, we saw that chrome-tanned leathers tend to have a shine to them and have that protection against the rain, humidity and light. Vegetable tanning, which is used for the same everyday objects has some porosity in its finish which allows it to absorb which doesn't make it the right leather for bags, belts or shoes. You'll see why now. If I put my finger with saliva here you can see that it leaves a dark mark on the leather. This tells us that it's vegetable...”

Their studio has become an international reference in artistic bookbinding and is a space for exchanging ideas and knowledge where many bookbinders and artists from different nationalities have honed their skills and explored their creative potential.
