Business Mindset for Creatives: Make an Action Plan

“What a journey we’ve been on! I am super proud of you for making it this far and for accepting my challenges along the way. The fact that you're here is a massive step towards where you’d like to be and achieving those goals for your business. I'd like to thank you for choosing me to help get you started on that journey. You’ve actually created all the fundamentals for your final project throughout this course. Now it is about putting it together in what we call a ‘roadmap’. A document that entails how your business creates, captures and delivers value. Here’s what you should do: Choose a format for your roadmap. It could be a Keynote, a Google deck, a Word document, or a Prezi, whichever format you prefer to work in. But I recommend that you choose a format you’re comfortable with so that it is not too big a project for you to make changes in the future. Sit down and review all your tasks from the units in this course. Are there some you skipped through a little lightly and would benefit from some more depth? Some where you didn’t get a chance to get feedback? Before you plot your results of the tasks into your roadmap, it is important that that task is done properly. Consider whether there’s something you’d want in your roadmap, maybe specific to your business, that I haven’t covered in this course. Maybe a more in-depth customer analysis, a look at the future of your market or something completely different. Remember that this is YOUR roadmap and while I have given you a skeleton, I highly encourage that you take what you’ve learned here and build on it. Always tailor everything to your own business. Once you have created a roadmap, I want you to get feedback on it. Use your advisors but also your peers in this course, friends, family and maybe even customers. I understand that there may be parts you need to keep confidential, but anything that isn’t, you should share and evolve based on the feedback you get. This course forum on Domestika is a fantastic place to get your work reviewed by others as passionate about developing their business as you. Be sure to make full use of it - the power is always in the community! Share your thoughts and your roadmap by clicking in the "Create your project" button above. Lastly I want you to remember that your roadmap isn’t a one-off thing. You shouldn’t create it and then pack it away. The idea is for this to be a live, working document that you can constantly refer back to as well as it should evolve over time. I really look forward to follow your progress on this! I'll try to answer the questions you might have in the forum, but please be patient, since I may be busy working on my own projects. Thank you so much for being on this journey with me. I am thrilled that you’re investing this time and energy into developing your business and yourself. If you keep up this level of commitment to development, you shall succeed in whatever you do! ”

“Final Project Business for creatives. You've made it to the end. I hope you've enjoyed this journey, I did. I won't lie, it's a bit emotional, it's a bit of a goodbye. But nonetheless, I wanna thank you for participating, for following through, and for putting this energy in. I'm forever grateful for it. As I've mentioned throughout this course, half of the work is to actually understand and know the fundamentals. The other half is to practise it. Now that's what you have left in front of you. Go out and practise it, keep iterating, and by testing your way you'll have the answers and valida...”
