“Starting to stitch Ok, you have your canvas on your frame, or your fabric on your hoop, or maybe you have your fabric in your lap. So needles at the ready, we're ready to roll. I'm using a few different wools here. I'm using a 2 ply wool, and I'm going to use that double. And then I'm also going to use a 4 ply wool, and I'm going to split that. I have my colour chart and every square on the chart represents one stitch on my canvas. The stitch, remember, goes across the intersections of the canvas. Today, Emily works on private commissions, artist collaborations, and large projects for global companies. She also designs and makes cross stitch and needlepoint kits and teaches needlework at The V&A London, The Royal School of Needlework, and on cruise ships around the world. In 2018, she was awarded Designer of the Year at the first National Needlecraft Awards.
