“Introduction Hello, welcome to the course. My name is Rodrigo Chávez, known by my friends and students as "El Pollo." I am an industrial and strategic designer. I was born and raised in Mexico City. My father is a painter, which means I grew up drawing. When I was 13, I discovered on the back cover of a magazine the technical drawing of a sport shoe. I asked my dad who the person was that did that job, and he replied that it was an industrial designer. At that moment I knew that it would be my job and I worked to achieve it. Rodrigo Chávez Heres

Rodrigo Chávez graduated with honors and a degree in industrial design from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
In 2005, he landed a job in one of the industry-leading office furniture companies, Grupo Di, and worked his way up to Chief Designer. He also began postgraduate studies at the Polytechnic University of Milan that same year and earned a master's degree in strategic design. In 2009, Rodrigo returned to Mexico and began collaborating with the design studio La Jabonera where he worked with major brands including Colgate, Comex, Coca-Cola, Bticino, and Landor. He currently collaborates on design projects under the brand Heres Diseño and is head of the design department at the Architecture, Art, and Design School of Monterrey.
