“Final thoughts So, now you have a final, full colour illustrated piece and you'll have a couple of colour vignettes that you worked up from your notebook. And you'll have quite a few ideas scribbled down in your sketchbooks, which is a good foundation, a good start. I find it really, really helps with my motivation when I've been drawing in sketchbooks and coming up with ideas to go ahead and make a finished piece of art. You can see what it looks like, you wanna keep going, and it's there, it exists, you can move on to the next piece. It's also really good to have. The name of the game is ...”

Kevin Waldron is a NYC-based illustrator and author who is dedicated to creating original illustrations for storybooks, animations, and other visual media. He grew up and studied in Dublin before moving to London to complete a Master’s degree at Kingston University.
His first book, Mr. Peek & the Misunderstanding at the Zoo, won the first ever Opera Prima award at the Bologna Book Fair and was recently made into an animated TV series. He has worked with several editorials including Hansol, Saatchi & Saatchi, Templar Publishing, and Penguin Books. His latest work includes t-shirt designs, temporary tattoos, and several storybooks, including a cookbook for dogs and a book that helps detect eye problems in young children.
