“Character design Adding color In this lesson I'm gonna begin adding colour to my characters. I'm gonna be using these watercolour brush pens. Feel free to use regular watercolour if you like, or whatever medium you like, but I find these quite handy. So, I'm just gonna work in my watercolour sketchbook. Just for reference, keep an eye on these drawings that I did earlier, mostly for body shape. But what I wanna do now is experiment with the colour a bit, see what the watercolour does, make some mistakes and see if I can repeat them in a useful way later on when I'm actually tracing the shap...”

Kevin Waldron is a NYC-based illustrator and author who is dedicated to creating original illustrations for storybooks, animations, and other visual media. He grew up and studied in Dublin before moving to London to complete a Master’s degree at Kingston University.
His first book, Mr. Peek & the Misunderstanding at the Zoo, won the first ever Opera Prima award at the Bologna Book Fair and was recently made into an animated TV series. He has worked with several editorials including Hansol, Saatchi & Saatchi, Templar Publishing, and Penguin Books. His latest work includes t-shirt designs, temporary tattoos, and several storybooks, including a cookbook for dogs and a book that helps detect eye problems in young children.
