“Character design Adding color Now I'll add some colour to the cat using the same process that we used for the pigeon. I'm gonna use the sketches from earlier in this notebook, as reference on the side for body shape and something to look at. Like I said, if you wanted to use photographic references again or anything, that's up to you. I mean, looking at this cat here right now I can't resist giving him big, yellow eyes and I'm surely gonna be looking for a nice furry contrast in his ginger stripe on his big round body. Kevin Waldron is a NYC-based illustrator and author who is dedicated to creating original illustrations for storybooks, animations, and other visual media. He grew up and studied in Dublin before moving to London to complete a Master’s degree at Kingston University.
His first book, Mr. Peek & the Misunderstanding at the Zoo, won the first ever Opera Prima award at the Bologna Book Fair and was recently made into an animated TV series. He has worked with several editorials including Hansol, Saatchi & Saatchi, Templar Publishing, and Penguin Books. His latest work includes t-shirt designs, temporary tattoos, and several storybooks, including a cookbook for dogs and a book that helps detect eye problems in young children.
