5 Instagram Stories Hacks You Probably Don't Know

Use these tricks to make your Instagram stories more attractive
The only thing you need to share your creativity on Instagram stories is your phone. These five tricks will help you get the most out of the social network and engage your followers.

1. Add multiple photos or make a collage on Instagram Stories
You can make collages or compositions on Instagram Stories using the most basic your phone’s most basic functions. Just choose the images you want to combine to copy and paste them directly on to another image.
First, select the image you would like to use as the background and add it to your story. Then, look on your reel or on the internet for the other images you want to superimpose (tip: if you look for pictures without a background, you can create a collage effect with cropped elements like the one in the following example). When you find them, just choose the "copy image" option. When you reopen Instagram, the app will automatically offer you the option to "add a sticker". Add all the elements you want using this trick and hit post when you're happy with the result.

2. Create a solid background color
Sometimes you need a solid background color for your Instagram stories, creating one is as simple as this:
Take or upload any photo from which you want to extract your background color; then select the paint option at the top of the tool panel. Choose the color you want from the selector or use the eyedropper to select it from the image itself. For the entire screen to be colored in that shade, you just have to leave your finger pressed anywhere on the image for a couple of seconds and voilà!

3. Access the full color picker
To those who do not know this trick, the chromatic range that Instagram offers may seem small, with fewer than 30 colors total. However, accessing the advanced color picker is extremely easy. Just select the paint tool in the top panel and press on one of the colored circles for a second; The advanced selector will open immediately so you can choose the perfect shade for your stories.
Remember that you can also capture the exact color of an image using the eyedropper to the left of the color list.

4. Create text with a color gradient
A simple trick with striking results. Instead of plain, single-color text, with this Instagram Stories trick, you'll create color-gradient text.
First, access the text tool and write what you want — it can be a single word or a paragraph as long as you want; select the text and open the expanded color panel as we taught you in the previous trick. You must then deselect the text progressively with one finger while, at the same time, go through the colors that you want to be part of the gradient with another finger. You will see how it changes color.

5. Hide your hashtags or mentions
Mentions and hashtags are useful in Instagram Stories to promote your content or allow others to share your stories on their profiles. But sometimes, aesthetically, they break the harmony of the image. Hiding those elements is as easy as creating them with the text tool —not with Instagram's mention option or hashtag; don't worry, they’ll work the same way– and selecting the same color of the image element on which you are going to place them. The text will no longer be visible because it is "camouflaged" in the image, but it will work as before.
If your image has a complex background that makes it difficult to hide the hashtags or mentions in this way, you can also hide them behind a gif or emoji by placing them just over the text.

BONUS HACK: Make boomerangs or gifs from photographs from your reel
This trick only works with iPhones or smartphones that take live photos. It allows you to create small loop animations without the need to use the "boomerang" option in Instagram Stories or download any additional app.
If you have taken the photo with the live option of your camera, you just have to upload the image to Instagram Stories the normal way and keep your finger pressed on the screen a couple of seconds; You will see how the image moves and becomes a gif that you can share with your followers.
