“ Making the Lid In this lesson, we'll cut and shape the lid. The first operation is planing the taper. I'll decide which will be the front and the back of the lid. Then, I'll draw a face mark pointing to the back, so when it sits in the box, it will sit something like this. The lid tapers front to back or back to front down to about 6 mm on this front edge.
