Fashion Entrepreneurship Specialization

Final Project: Design and Present Your Own Mini Fashion Collection Objective The objective of this project is for you to combine the knowledge acquired in your fashion specialization to develop an original mini-fashion collection. Through this exercise, you will apply concepts of design, branding, illustration, and entrepreneurship to present a unique proposal that reflects your creative identity. Project Description You will develop a mini-collection that encompasses everything from the initial concept to the visual representation and strategic approach of the brand. This project will be a first step for those who want to explore the fashion industry, allowing them to experiment with ideas, materials, and visual narratives in an accessible and creative way. Key Elements of the Project 1. Concept and Inspiration • Define the essence of your collection: what story do you want to tell through your garments? • Create a mood board with visual references, colors, textures, and silhouettes that inspire you. 2. Sketches and Design of the Collection • Make sketches of at least three key sets or pieces from the collection. • Experiment with different silhouettes and details to reflect your chosen concept. 3. Brand Identity and Branding • Design a name and logo for your brand. • Define a color palette and typography that represents the visual identity. • Briefly explain your brand's values and target audience. 4. Entrepreneurship and Strategy • Write a brief business plan: how would you position your collection in the market? • Consider elements of sustainability and responsible production if they apply to your concept. 5. Final Presentation • Organize all elements into a visually appealing document or presentation. • Includes images of the creative process, from sketches to branding development. Steps for Development 1. Exploring Ideas • Research trends and references to define a solid concept. • Look for images, textures, and colors that represent your vision. 2. Design Development • Make initial sketches and refine ideas until reaching a final version. • Make sure the pieces fit together. 3. Brand Creation • Design a logo and define the visual identity of the collection. • Write a brief history of the brand and its purpose. 4. Strategic Plan • Consider how you would position your collection in the market. • Explain whether your proposal includes values of sustainability, local production, or exclusivity. 5. Completion and Presentation • Prepare a PDF presentation with all the elements organized. • Share your creative process and your experience in developing the project. Final Delivery a) Document or visual presentation with: • Moodboard and inspiration. • Sketches and design of the collection. • Branding (logo, typography and colors). • Market strategy and value proposition. b) Images of the creative process (initial sketches, color tests, graphic explorations). c) Personal reflection on what was learned in the process. Every garment tells a story, and every collection is an opportunity to share a unique vision. Your creativity is the starting point for something great. Dare to design and leave your mark on the world of fashion!”
