About the final project for: Specialization in Graphic Design and Visual Communication

Graphic Design Specialization: Mastering Color and Composition

Final Project: Design a Visual Universe for Social Media Project Objective The goal is to create a series of consistent graphic pieces that represent a coherent visual universe for a personal or fictional brand. This project will allow you to apply key concepts of color, composition, typography, and shapes to communicate a clear and engaging visual message. Project Description You will design three social media posts that follow a common visual style. You will choose a theme or concept (a fictional brand, an inspirational message, or an imaginary promotion) and use the tools learned in the specialization to develop them. Posts should include graphic elements such as colors, fonts, and shapes that work in harmony, reflecting your understanding of basic design principles. Steps for Development 1. Define the Theme and Purpose: • Choose a theme or concept that inspires you. For example: a) A fictitious promotion for a coffee shop. b) An inspiring message for social media. c) An advertisement for an imaginary event or product. • Think about the message you want to communicate and the emotion you want to convey. Create a Mood board: • Gather visual references (colors, shapes, fonts, images) that represent the style you want to achieve. • Define a color palette and the type of typography you will use. Design the Graphic Pieces: • Post 1: An image with the title or main message. • Post 2: A more informative design, which could include details, hours, pricing, or additional data. • Post 3: A visual element that reinforces the identity of the set, such as a pattern, a dynamic background, or a key phrase. Apply Design Principles: • Use colors that generate contrast and harmony. • Make sure the compositions are balanced. • Experiment with geometric shapes, typography and visual movement to guide the viewer. Document your Process: • Take screenshots or photos of the development stages: initial sketches, color tests, and compositions. • Write brief notes about the creative decisions you made and the challenges you faced. Final Delivery The Three Publications: • Present the three graphic pieces as a whole that represents your visual universe. Personal Reflection: • Share your experience: What did you learn? What techniques did you find most useful? Creative Process: • Include images of your mood board, sketches and initial tests. Remember that every design you create is an opportunity to tell a unique visual story. This project is just the beginning of a universe full of creative possibilities. Share your work with confidence and let your vision inspire others.”
