“Influences Now, I'll share some influences that have inspired my work. First is Doyald Young. Doyald was an American logotype and type designer. I came across his work after I taught myself calligraphy and got into hand lettering. In the documentary that I saw about Doyald’s life, he pored over his work in a way I've never seen before. When he drew letterforms, he took his time. He was very deliberate in everything he did. I understood I didn't have to rush through my process. These are some pieces that he created when he was still alive. You can see on this page the way he varied each logo...”
