“ Stitching the French Knots In this lesson, I'll use French knots to incorporate texture into the wave section of my piece. You can start on any section you want. I usually start outside of the edges and begin filling it in using a variety of stitches like we did when we practiced the French knots. Some two wraps, some three wraps, some one wraps, just to give it that added texture and dimension. You can get up close to the edge so you can't even see the lines from the satin stitch rows.
