About the final project for: Abstract Color and Design for Embroidery

Abstract Color and Design for Embroidery

“Thank you for joining me and allowing me to share my story and process with you. This course has come to an end, but that doesn’t mean your exploration in the embroidery world needs to. What I shared with you in this course is a starting point to inspire you to get started with your own journey. There are so many techniques to be explored, and your imagination is your only limitation! Don’t let a lack of tools limit your creativity. I would like for you to share your project. Let me show you an example of what I expect to see: The Inspiration Seek out the inspiration you want to use for your project, including color palettes.

The Design Draw your design, you can do it on paper or on the iPad. Next, choose the embroidery floss colors. Then transfer the design to fabric and prepare the embroidery hoop.
Stitching Stitch the design by starting with the silhouette portion, then the satin stitches of color, followed by french knot clouds or waves.
The Project Finally, finish the back of your hoop and display it proudly!
I urge you to try creating additional designs and pieces using the tools you’ve learned to bring your original ideas to life. Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun while stitching. I want to encourage you to participate in the forum. Engage by sharing your progress and liking or commenting on your fellow students' work. Be part of the community. Remember that the more you give, the more you will receive. I can’t wait to see your project! See you soon! ”

Remember that imperfect stitches can be undone and redone, but also that once the piece is complete, you won't likely notice any tiny imperfections. For stitches that directly touch the edge of the hoop, be sure to start the stitches at the hoop edge to keep the consistent order of your project. For the rest of the stitches, I start at the bottom row and stitch upward. Be ...”
