“Shading the Face and Neck Hopefully you can see that I'm trying to make these curved marks as I'm shading this area. Although some of them will eventually disappear as I work in further, but I'm looking at my reference photo and the curve of Ciara's throat and that's what I'm trying to replicate as I'm filling in the shadow, rather than just blocking in a flat area. I'm trying to define the edge of the jawline and get that nice and sharp. I'm using a 3B pencil which is, for me, that mid-range pencil where I can get dark lines if I press a little harder and I can get lighter tones, if I'm ge...”
