“Preparing the surface In this lesson we'll prepare our surface for painting. I'm using these cradled panels, this is a wooden panel that's really robust and it's not prone to warping, it's a great surface to paint on. You can buy them prepared, but I prefer to prepare my own, and this gives us the opportunity to protect the surface and also give us a nice clean surface to begin our painting. You could sand it super smooth or leave some texture and brush marks in your primer, that's up to you. I prefer to find a medium between the two, so I'll explain how I do this.
