“Highlight, fine details & glazing In this lesson we'll be finishing our painting using glazing and adding final highlights to our work. Glazing is a technique that involves adding a very fine layer of pigment to areas of the painting that are already complete. Highlighting will just be punctuating all the areas on the face that the light is catching and is most prominent. Then we'll see if the painting has any extra details that we want to add. Shortly after deciding to pursue his dream of becoming a portrait artist, Alan Coulson was awarded a BP Portrait Award from The National Portrait Gallery in London.
