About the final project for: Techniques for Developing your Creativity
Creative Training for Art and Design Projects
“Dear students, we have reached the end. Thank you very much for taking this course. I hope you have learned and enjoyed as much as I have. I'm looking forward to seeing all the ideas that you have come up with, no matter how crazy they are. You can share them in the forum in their different sections so that we can all see them. Next, we are going to review the different steps that we have taken in the course to find ideas and unlock the imagination. We started by introducing ourselves, I told you about some of my references that I know and we talked about the things that art and design have in common. In the second unit we begin by looking at how different designers and artists investigate. I also told you how I do it, using as an example a project that I recently did in Rome. We continued the exploration by unlocking our head and saw some tricks to avoid falling into the lock. We also saw that exploration could be divided into three: (1) exploring ourselves through our references, imagination and interests, (2) knowing our environment and learning to look at absolutely everything and (3) looking at people to those that we are going to design and taking some characteristics as the common threads of our creations. At the beginning of the third unit we looked at some ways and reasons why objects are born; We saw examples and references in this generation or invention of things. We set ourselves a goal that began to serve as a beacon for our project: a plot notebook. We became surreal and began to put alternative uses to objects and saw the impossible relationships. With these exercises we get the wildest ideas. We also thought about the frames of our notebook and we had almost closed our notebook. In the fourth unit we ended up landing our idea in sketches and prototypes and we gave it to our user to test to see if it met the proposed objective. Finally, we reflect on the importance of ideas in any field and on how we can lead a creative life. Again, THANK YOU very much, and you know where to find me.”
