“In this lesson, I will tell you what some of my influences are. My first and biggest influence is my dad. I grew up in Syria in a very artistic family. My dad taught at Damascus University School of Art. I was influenced by his work in art, interior design, architecture, and Arabic calligraphy. I don't remember a moment when I was not surrounded by art and design, and this grew in me and my love to create and design. In my dad's work, you can find so many ornaments, patterns, and the Muqarnas played a big role in it. They played a big part in how I learned to create and how I was influenced...”
