About the final project for: Contemporary Landscape Embroidery

Contemporary Landscape Embroidery

“Congratulations on finishing this course. I hope you have found it interesting and learned a lot. You've learned to embroider a contemporary landscape using thread, paint, fabrics, and other materials. Now it's your turn to create your course project. Let me show you an example of how I would like to see your course project process: The Inspiration Find inspiration in your landscape. Take a photo of the scene you want to stitch.

Sketch and Colors Sketch your composition. Create a few versions and choose the best one. Then, choose your thread colors.
First Steps Prepare your hoop by getting it wet and then paint on any watercolor you want to add. Create your middle ground with stitches and wool roving. Take a photo of your piece and “sketch” in any details with your photo editor tool.
The Artwork Add in your final foreground details. Collage your sky onto your fabric and attach it with double-sided tape and stitching. Finish the back of your hoop. Cinch the fabric with a running stitch and then use a whip stitch to secure the felt to the back.
Once your project is ready, share it on the forum by clicking the "Create your project" button. I will look at your publications as soon as possible and answer any doubts that need clarification. In the meantime, I encourage you to see what your fellow students have been up to and comment on their posts. See you soon!”

I have three kids, so I often work in my living room in front of the TV while they're napping, and that's totally fine. Don't be afraid to take out stitches and redo them if you're not happy with them. I know it feels hard to do when you've spent so much time on each stitch, but I promise you you'll be happier in the end if you do. Take the time ...”
