After choosing the best thumbnail concept sketch, I then gathered my reference and this is the final drawing that I came up with. A few things that I felt would enhance or tell a little more of the story for this piece were to add a happy face onto the t-shirt, as well as adding a happy face to the flower, and also giving him a peace sign as a gesture to tell a little more of the story. Bob Dobbie, also known as Bob Dob, is a painter from Hermosa Beach, California. After being diagnosed with cancer at 12 years old, he was drawn toward music and art and went on to play in a band for over a decade, which had a big influence on his style. Bob later completed a BFA in illustration at Otis College of Art and Design and, after graduating, worked as an illustrator for clients including Epitaph Records, Intel, American Airlines, Random House Publishing, and Disney.
