Conceptual Thinking for Advertising Campaigns
“Looks like we’ve reached the end, my friend. Thank you so much for making it this far with me. I hope you enjoyed these lessons and were given a basis for pursuing a career as a creative in advertising. It is now time to start working on your final project. This could mean finishing the campaign you started while completing the exercises or you could start a brand new project! Either way, I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. It'd be great if you could explain the choices you've made along the way, share your doubts, and maybe tell us some of the obstacles you may have come across. This will help me understand your creative process and guide you better if you need advice. Now here are the main steps you need to follow to complete your project: Choose the product or brand for which you want to create a conceptual ad campaign. Remember the aim is to take something popular with a certain segment of consumers and flip it on its head. We want to be more inclusive and see these brands in a new light. Develop your brief using the provided template. Try to think of everything you’d want to know. Get a clear picture of the work that has been done before by competitors as well as your client’s brand. Brainstorm ideas. Stimulate your mind using the suggested techniques or by using your own. Execute the ideas you believe in the most, then craft and refine. And remember, keep it simple. I am excited to see what you have created! Don’t forget to share your project on the forum. You can do so by clicking on the "Create your project" button. I’ll be checking in as often as possible to look at your posts and answer your questions, but the forum is also an amazing opportunity to give and receive feedback from fellow creatives so that we can all learn from each other! Have fun with your project and see you soon!”
