“Basic materials Hi. In this class, I will introduce you to the materials you need. to get you started on your final project. For the preparation of sketches, you will need bond paper, can be A4 size. Here we will draw the first sketches of our patches that we will weave later. You can use graphite pencil, pens, pastel chalk... I particularly use pastels a lot to make these stains to define our patches. Pastel chalk is much simpler and easier. Although she's trained in architecture and urban design, she began her artistic career in 2015 when she first came into contact with a loom and discovered she had a knack for weaving. Juliana combines techniques from different art forms in her work, such as sewing, embroidery, and crochet, while also incorporating a variety of mediums like video, drawing, and photography.
She has participated in both group and solo exhibitions, including A Tessitura do Gesto, which took place in 2021 at the Arte Plural Gallery in Recife. When she's not creating, Juliana shares her knowledge by teaching textile art courses across Brazil.
