“Finding Material in Your Past I use a lot of my childhood memories in my books, not big life-changing memories, but small things that happened to me or I observed when I was little. These are my favourite parts to write. It's those moments that I can visualise, I can remember how that experience was when I was younger. This is what I want you to think about when you're writing your project. Think about something from your own childhood. Lisa also gives talks and workshops at schools and book festivals, and has been nominated for numerous awards including the Carnegie Medal and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize.
