Color Theory: Exploration and Application
“Congratulations! You have reached the end of this course. Thank you so much for taking part in it. It has been a great experience sharing my creative process with you. I hope that you are now more aware of the relativity of color and more confident in making color decisions in your own work. Now it's time to complete and present your project: a set of posters for a hypothetical exhibition called "An Eye for Color: Learning from Albers". Your designs should be new and original, so I strongly suggest you take the time to gather inspiration and make a unique project of your own. Here are the key points to consider while working on your project: • You will design two posters, each composed of the title and subtitle and an image based on the color experiments you performed in the course. • A different image will be used on each poster. • The treatment of the title and subtitle (typeface, size, and placement) must be the same on the two posters. • The background color must be the same on the two posters. • The size/proportions of the posters must fit the A format (A0, A1, etc.). • The printed posters will be displayed on walls and kiosks. • One animated poster will be designed that features the type treatment and images used on the print versions, running in a loop sequence. • The animated version of the poster will be the same size as the printed posters and made to be projected on digital displays.

“Hello students. Thanks for taking this course. I'm glad you're here. I've been teaching color theory for over 20 years, and I'm passionate about sharing everything I've learned through the development and teaching of my assignments. In teaching this course, my goal is for you to become more aware of the relativity of color, and more confident in making color decisions in your own work. We discussed the color theory concepts of Johannes Itten and Joseph Albers, and we performed a group of color experiments. We completed the course by creating a set of exhibition posters for print and electro...”
