Architectural Sketching with Watercolor and Ink

Alex is great teacher, very informative and pedagogic. Every step is gradual and the learning process is really easy to follow. The principles laid out in the course create a great foundation of knowledge. It's motivated me continue working on my watercolor and keep developing my style.

One very minor remark: it would be good to have the reference photo which is used for the demo available for the students.

This has been exactly what I was looking for. I have been staring at buildings between Washington DC and now Europe, and my attempts to capture the details of an old building have either overwhelmed me or fell flat. Thanks for presenting this topic!

Alex did a great job! Starting from the bottom he builded up to finally making a real painting. The techniques were explained very clear. Looking forward to join one of his courses again :-)

Instructor seems to genuinely want to share his knowledge and teach new students. He was knowledgeable and video was professional and well thought out. Nice progression to a finished piece, although some students may need a lot of practice before reaching the point of wanting to frame and display a piece. Definitely a class to watch more than once.

Very good introduction to sketching architectural subjects in watercolor. Good introduction to materials and a clear explanation of processes. The visual quality of the course allows you to follow each step and his commentary helps with understanding each step of the painting. I enjoyed the course and would recommend it to others who are considering urban sketching using pen, ink and watercolor.

My favorite part about this online course is that it is not mandatory to complete the exercises at the end of each lessons to move onto the next lesson. I'm an impatient individual and simply cannot wait to learn neat tricks right away.

I liked this course very much - it had a good level of technical teaching and an enormous amount of inspiration. Alex is a calming, confident, and warm instructor - whose work speaks for itself. I would not hesitate in recommending this course.

Excellent course! Pleasing voice, easy to understand and follow his instructions! He showed his working palette so I was able to see his watercolor dilution. He gave such valuable info on what to draw, how much of a building to draw/include, on using shadows and light.....on and on! I will take any and all classes he offers! Again, great class, great teacher!

La verdad es que es la primera vez que me apunto a un curso online y era un poco escéptico. Pero me habéis demostrado que se pueden ofrecer cursos muy interesantes y prácticos online. Me ha gustado mucho el estilo de Alex Hillkurtz y repetiré seguro.
