We shadowed the founder of ORA The Floral Agency to discover a day in her life

Juliana Bustillo is a Colombian floral designer and the creator of ORA The Floral Agency, a successful Bogotá florist. Her company specializes in creating floral experiences for major brands including: Carolina Herrera, Cartier, Mont Blanc, and H&M.

This edition of the Domestika Diary shadowed Juliana on one of her day’s at work to discover a little more about her creative process. Don’t miss it!

Juliana and her team start the day in Paloquemao, one of the big Bogotá markets selling fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and flowers. They select an infinite variety of the freshest blooms to create floral designs for their clients. “It’s always important to smell the stems because that tells you how fresh they are,” explains Juliana.

Events are one of the most important lines of business for ORA The Floral Agency. Juliana loves this kind of work as it allows her to travel the country and work for countless different brands. Her clients include prestigious names like: Google, Chanel, Versace, Carolina Herrera, Cartier, Mont Blanc, and H&M.

She also works on floral designs for weddings and creates magical experiences all over Colombia. And you can even catch her giving in-person workshops that allow participants to learn the secrets of flower arranging firsthand.

Once a month, Juliana Bustillo tries to switch off and refresh by escaping into nature or going on a yoga or a ceramics retreat. And for some time, the floral artist has tried to record her ideas in a daily journal.
